There have been various studies performed that have suggested that as many as 70 to 90% of women have cellulite. So what is the best cellulite solution?

Contrary to popular belief, cellulite is not the result of weight loss or gain. According to Dr. Lisa M. Donofrio, “Cellulite is a storage pattern of superficial fat. Instead of fat being stored diffusely it is stored in little pockets separated by fibrous strands called septae.” Though excess fat and being overweight can contribute to the problem, it isn’t the sole reason why cellulite forms. Men also sometimes get cellulite, but it’s not nearly as common as it is in women. This is because women have thinner skin than men do, so it the lumps and dimples through the skin much easier.

Cellulite Cream Cellulite Solution

The most common ingredients found in anti-cellulite creams are caffeine, retinol A and aminophylline. Caffeine is used as a diuretic to reduce the amount of water underneath the skin at the cellulite area, giving skin a smoother appearance. Retinol A is used to thicken the skin and hide the dimples. It also works as an exfoliant to slough off dead skin cells. Aminophylline is used to help reduce the size of the fat cells in cellulite. Though consumer reviews vary and are not direct proof that cellulite creams actually work, some women do notice an improvement for the very short term. Regardless, cellulite cream will always have to be used in order to maintain any kind of results. Once use of cellulite cream has ceased, the appearance of cellulite is very likely to make a comeback.

Lipomassage Cellulite Solution

Lipomassage is a non-surgical technique used by professionals to mask the appearance of cellulite. Basically, a vacuum-type device is used to massage the skin for 35 to 45 minutes, breaking up the cellulite and giving the appearance of smoother skin. Lipomassage does not get rid of cellulite, but it can be a great way to hide it. One lipomassage session has an average cost of $50 to $75. Several lipomassage, or endermologie sessions will need to be performed before any kind of results will be seen. Monthly treatments will need to be performed from then on for maintenance purposes.

The fight against cellulite is ongoing. There is currently no cellulite solution that has the ability to get rid of cellulite permanently. Since the appearance of cellulite is directly related to an individual’s genetic makeup, chances are it will come back in due time. No matter which cellulite removal method one decides to go with, it’s important to remember that maintenance is key to long lasting results.
